Let’s do good activity at Lampang (1995)
In 1994, Dr. Somkiat Supakovit and his wife, Mrs. Somchitt Supakovit went to make merit at Sathani Rot Fai Hang Chat Temple, Lampang Province. That was when they had an opportunity to discuss with Luang Poh Takam Piyaseero, the abbot of the temple at that time. The abbot explained the need for the new pavilion in order to have enough space for people to come to make a merit during Buddhist festivals. Dr. Somkiat and Mrs.Somchitt realized that this temple needed some financial assistance in order to fulfill the abbot’s need. They then donated a sum of money to build a new pavilion. Moreover, they donated a principle Buddha image in a pavilion and also a temple sign. Then there was a ceremony to celebrate a new pavilion in November 6th, 1995.

And in 2015, daughter and son in law of Dr. Somkiat and Mr. Somchit, went to renovate the pavilion and the old, dilapidated Hang Chat Railway Station temple name sign, to look new and more spacious, according to this clips.

Let’s Do Good Activity at Lampang EP.3
Visiting Lampang province this time, not only I have an opportunity to attend Let’s Do Good Activity with Pises Powder, visit Dhanabadee Ceramic Museum , learn about the history of chicken bowl and buy beautiful chicken bowls as a souvenir back home, I also go sightseeing in many tourists attraction places in Lampang province. Let ‘s go together, shall we? ღ

Lampang Horse Carriage, the single horse carriage was the only real means of transportation in Lampang province during the reign of King Rama the Fifth. The first horse carriages were originally bought up from Bangkok. The use horse carriages became in wide-spread from Lampang to Ratchasima in the Northeast and from Si Thammarat in the South to Chiang Rai in the North. Lampang remains the only real area, the horse carriages are still used as a daily transportation for the locals. The Lampang small version was developed by Khun Uthankhadee in 1949 A.D. In 1952 A.D., Chow Boonsong Na Lampang officially changed the name of the Rot ma taxi to “horse carriage” to add a trendy and fashionable image to their use. Today there are still 70 horse carriages in daily use in Lampang and only two thirds of the carriages are even ridden by the tourists around the city area.

Baan Sao Nak is situated on Rat Wattana Road in Wiang Nuea Sub-district, Mueang District, Lampang Province. It is an ancient wooden house. Since there are up to 116 planks of teakwood posts, this house is named “Baan Sao Nak.” The word “Nak,” in the local language, means “many.” This house was built in 1895 by Mong Chan Ong, the origin of the Chandraviroj family. The house was named by MR. Thanadsri Svasti, owing to the amount of the posts.

The area of the house is around 3 Rai, consisting of large houses in group, garage, and granary. The special thing of this house is that it is the architecture with the combination of Myanmar and Lanna Style. The inside of Baan Sao Nak displays ancient appliances which were used in northern people’s lifestyle in the past; for example, the support on an elephant or Chao Luang Lampang’s seat on the elephant’s neck, ancient casket, machine for creasing cloth, iron coffer, lacquer ware, silverware.

Wat Phra Kaeo Don Tao or Wat Phra Kaeo Don Tao Suchadaram is located in WiangNuea sub-district, Mueang district, Lampang province. The temple was built between 1782 and 1809, during which the Chiang Saen people had been captured and herded to locate in Khelang town to recall goodness of MrsSuchada after being sentenced to death because of misunderstanding. However, the truth was revealed later. It was believed that the temple was a home and a watermelon farm of Goddess Suchada in the past. Later on 6 August 1984, the Ministry of Education combined WatSuchadaram with WatPhraKaeo Don Tai and called it WatPhraKaeo Don Tao Suchadaram. Its ordination hall is Chiang Saen style of architecture. It is a stucco-over-brick building decorated with mural paintings covered withlacquer and gold leaves. Inside the hall,a Buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara is enshrined on a plaster base. The ordination hall was renovated in 1922, 1960 and 2007on the occasion of The Sixtieth Anniversary Celebrations of His Majesty’s Accession to the Throne. ٩(●̮̮̃•̃)۶

On the banks of the Wang river in the town of Lampang is the Wat Pongsanuk, a beautiful temple built in a mix of Lanna and Burmese Shan styles. The temple that is also called Wat Pongsanuk Tai was built in 1886 by wealthy Burmese immigrants employed in the teak logging industry. Between the end of the 19th century and the early 20th century Lampang was a center of teak logging in North Thailand. During those years many Burmese came to the Lampang area, who built a number of Burmese style monasteries as an act of gaining merit.

The Southern part of the temple complex is built on top a small mound. A Naga staircase leads up to the large stuccoed arched entrance gate. Inside the walled area are a chedi and two viharns.

The Wat Pongsanuk’s most interesting building is an open, teak wood Burmese style viharn. The unique building named Viharn Phra Chao Phan Ong was carefully restored during a 4 year restoration project.

Ratchadapisek Bridge (or the white bridge) is located on Ratchada Road, Amphoe Muang. Originally, it was a wooden bridge that the ruler of Lampang old city “Chao Noranan Chaichaowalit” together with his citizens had built to commemorate Phrabat Somdet Phra Chula Chomklao Chaoyuhua (King Rama V) ’s Anniversary of his 25th year Accession to the Throne in 1894.

The bridge was considered the biggest bridge in Thailand, since it was 120 meters long. Assuming that the name“Ratchadapisek” has come from the purpose of its construction to offer the bridge as a memorial for King Rama V’s Accession to the Throne Ceremony. The king himself had bestowed the name “Ratchadapisek” to this bridge as well. Ratchadapisek is an iron-concrete bridge painted white, looking outstandingly attractive with 4 bow-shaped curves. It stands tall on Mae Wang river as a landmark of Lampang until nowadays. ღ

Nakhon Lampang Railway Station is located in Amphoe Muang, Lampang, 642.29 kilometers away from Bangkok Railway Station. Built in 1915 during the reign of King Rama VI, the first train arrived on 1st April 1916, which was exactly Thai New Year during that time.

Having endured through 98 years of long history, Nakhon Lampang Railway Station has still preserved its beautiful architectural heritage until nowadays. It building is extraordinary, unlike other stations. To illustrate, it is a European-style building with curve posts, and fretwork around door panels and door-window frames, which blends the Northern Thailand style and European style together. The station is a splendidly rare-to-find Lanna-Colonial building. It was half wood-half concrete. The ground floor is a solid concrete, whereas; the upper floor was made of wood. Many Chinese-style houses lined up in front of the station still bare its antique charm to the passerby.

As a beautiful European architecture, Nakhon Lampang Railway Station is the only railway station in Thailand that has stood tall for almost a century. Therefore, it becomes a historical heritage that has persisted with Lampang province for a long period of time. {{{(>_<)}}}

Kat Kong Ta Walking Street is a night market at by Wang River Pier. The market was flourishing during the reign of King Rama V and there were communities of British, Burmese, and Chinese people who came to do business. The Chinese dominated the trade and became the largest community here. The district was therefore named ‘Thanon Talat Chin,’ literally meaning the street of the Chinese market. Shops along the river banks are in the mixed architectural styles of Europe and China, including whole wooden buildings that are still in good condition.
Oh….lots of activities for visiting Lampang province this time today. Lots of fun. So please wait and see for the next activities from Pises Powder Parachute Brand. Hope you enjoy this trip as I do!!! Bye!!!

Let’s Do Good Activity at Lampang EP.2
After I attended Let’s Do Good Activity with Pises Powder, the ceremony to celebrate a newly renovated pavilion and also a new temple’s sign. Before going home, I will take you to go sightseeing in Lampang province {{{(>_<)}}}

First, I am going to visit Dhanabadee Ceramic Museum – A ceramic museum that makes chicken bowls. This museum is worth visiting because not only you will know about the history of chicken bowl but also you can buy very beautiful chicken bowls as a souvenir back home.

Originally from the Canton region in China, a chicken bowl (koey oua) holds rice soup or noodles. In the early 20th century, Chinese immigrants came to Thailand in larger numbers, and during the Sino-Japanese war the imported chicken bowls came in short supply. Chicken bowls started being produced in Lampang in 1937, and were fired using a Dragon Kiln. The story begins with the man that started making chicken bowls. Meet Mr E. (Chin Simyu), who in 1954 discovered the kaolinte deposits in Lampang that make up the bowls today ٩(͡๏̯͡๏)۶

The next main phase of the museum shows how they’re produced, both in the traditional way and the modern way. Making the bowls the traditional way – they’re all the same size, spun by hand, and start with a pre-measured amount of clay. Not pictured is a machine-spun ball of clay with a handle that came down to press the bowl into the right shape. Hand-painting is just one step of the process. Now that we’ve seen how they’re made, the room next to the kiln is a showroom of modern chicken bowls.

This is perhaps one of the best reasons to come to Lampang. Hope you guys enjoy. There are so many interesting places that I would like to visit. Let’ s go!!

Let’s Do Good Activity at Chiang Kham EP.2
Hi. Everybody. After I attended the scholarship ceremony of Pises Powder Parachute Brand Foundation for Chiang Kham Wittayakom School. Before going home, I will take you to go sightseeing in Phayao and Chiang Rai province

Wat Nantaram is a Tai Yai (Shan-style) community temple in central Chiang Kham, Phayao Province, Thailand and exhibits the classic Tai Yai roof architecture, somewhat extraordinary and incongruous in the heart of the Lanna Kingdom! Whilst there is no record of exactly when this temple was founded, there are records of the names and length of tenure of consecutive abbots dating back to 1908. The temple was previously called “Wat Chong Kha” because the roof was covered with Ya Kha or lalang grass. The Tai Yai Buddhsts completed the temple construction under the leadership of Pho Thao Ubon, and it was generally known as Wat Chong Nuea (North Temple) as its located in the north of the town.

Wat Rong Khun situated in Chiang Rai province. Wat Rong Khun (commonly referred to as ‘The White Temple’) is still a work in progress after more than 10 years in construction. When the Temple is finished it will consist of 9 separate buildings. Its main distinguishing feature is its white colour inlaid with mirrored glass. The white colour of the temple represents the Lord Buddha’s purity while the white glass stands for the Lord Buddha’s wisdom that shines brightly all over the earth.

Now I going to buy Pises Powder at a chemist in Chiang Rai city center. There is a chemist called Saguan Chai pharmacy. Let’s go!!!

Can I have 2 sachets of Pises Powder ??? There it is, you can buy Pises Powder anywhere in the chemist in Thailand!! Only 10 Baht, your face will be cleared and no more pimple. ♥

Chiang Rai Clock Tower in Wiang Mueang area was built in 2005 to honour Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. The clock tower bears the signature style of Chalermchai Kositpipat, the artist who conceived and built the White Temple. Every evening, at 19:00, 20:00 and 21:00, the clock tower comes to life in a light-and-sound display. While it’s not exactly a must-see, it still draws quite a gathering of visitors and is an interesting addition to the city’s central landmark.

Oh….lots of activities the I did today. I attended the 21th Scholarship ceremony by Pises Powder Parachute Brand Foundation for Chiang Kham Wittayakom School in the morning. Then I went to Wat Nantaram, Wat Rong Khun, bought Pises Powder at Saguan Thai pharmacy and finally Chiang Rai Clock Tower. I made a merit and also sight-seeing. I had a lot of fun. Hi! Everybody. Today, I have an old VDO clip of the opening ceremony “Pises Powder Parachute Brand District Health Promotion and Prevention Center” at Bhan Rong Kham, Khon Kaen Province, Thailand in 1993 by Dr. Somkiet Supakovit chairman of Somchitt Dispensary Company Limited and his wife, Mrs. Somchitt Supakovit to show you!!
This clip is taken from an old VDO tape, which we preserve it very well and has been converted into a CD for posting on YouTube. But when we watch the clip. It was quite long, approximately 1 hour, so it had to be edited down to approximately 10 minutes, but all the sound tracks were original.

For Pises Powder Parachute Brand District Health Promotion and Prevention Center’s history. In the old days, when villagers in Bhan Rong Kham got sick, they had to travel to other health centers in other villages or district hospital or provincial hospital which was rather difficult and time-consuming due to the difficulty in travelling through non-asphalt roads.
Until 1990, Dr. Somkiat and Mrs. Somchitt had a discussion with the abbot of Nak Prok temple, Provost Vorakittisophon, who is the monk dean of Pak klong Phasicharoen district, Bangkok, Thailand. The provost was originally from Bhan Rong Kham and explained that the villagers there had difficulty in travelling so much so that they did not receive their treatments in time.
Dr. Somkiat and Mrs. Somchitt believed in the idea of helping these villagers so they and other believers donated a sum of money to built Pises Powder Parachute Brand District Health Promotion and Prevention Center at Bhan Rong Kham in order to provide the villagers with basic health care and treatments. Pises Powder Parachute Brand District Health Promotion and Prevention Center at Bhan Rong Kham was opened in January 2nd,1992.

For the detail of the ceremony can be download from here….
We did attend the opening ceremony of the Pises Powder Parachute Brand District Health Promotion and Prevention Center at Bhan Rong Kham was opened in January 2nd, 1992. Let’s Do Good Activity at Bhan Rong Kham EP.2
Hi! Everybody. After I attended the opening ceremony of District Health Promotion hospital (Pises Powder Parachute Brand), I had an opportunity to talk with Mr. Wuttikrai Julwongsa, Chairman of District Health Promotion hospital (Pises Powder Parachute Brand), Mrs. Prairchompoo Suknalum, a professional expertise nurse and Ms. Arunrat Thovanna, a public Health Official/Sanitarian.

They said that… “A district health promoting hospital does not only provide high quality comprehensive medical and nursing services, but also develops a corporate identity that embraces the aims of health promotion, develops a health promoting organizational structure and culture, including active, participatory roles for patients and all members of staff, develops itself into a health promoting physical environment and actively cooperates with its community.

Health promoting hospitals take action to promote the health of their patients, their staff, and the population in the community they are located in. Health promoting hospitals are actively attempting to become “healthy organizations”. Health Promoting Hospitals are being implemented since 1988. An international network has developed to promote the wider adoption of this concept in hospitals and other health care settings.”

Finally, I have to thank the chairman of District Health Promotion hospital (Pises Powder Parachute Brand) and his staffs for their explanation what a district health promoting hospital is and took me around the hospital.
